Vodafone had been the sponsor for the England cricket team for the last twelve years, i.e. since 1996. Unfortunately Vodafone has decided to snap this long relationship and it will not renew the the sponsorship after the expiry of the current contract period. This means that Vodafone will remain the sponsor to the England Cricket team only for the next 13 months. Vodafone is also terminating its contract with the Wales Cricket board, with which it shared an equally long relationship.

ECB spokesman said that Vodafone and ECB had shared a very long relation and had many achievements to their credit. He said that he fully respects the decision of Vodafone and will try to make the remaining thirteen months of their relation as fruitful as it had been for the last 12 years.
